Festivals and Family Fun

Ave Maria Grotto, Bloomin' Festival, Strawberry Festival, Oktoberfest

It seems that there is always something going on in Cullman. With the great climate in Cullman, short mild winters followed by long warm summers, you can enjoy the many family attractions and festivals year round.

One of the most popular attractions that Cullman host is the Ave Maria Grotto. The Grotto is known throughout the world as “Jerusalem in Miniature,” and is a beautifully landscaped, 4 acre park that houses 125 miniature replicas of famous churches, shrines, and buildings from all over the world. The Ave Maria Grotto is located on Alabama’s only Benedictine Abbey.

In the spring, summer, and fall months you can always catch a town festival. At the peak of strawberry season, you can catch the Strawberry festival. If you love sweet treats, and family fun this festival is for you. Don’t forget to purchase a basket of locally grown strawberries to enjoy at home. The Bloomin’ Festival is a popular festival that takes place on the grounds of St. Bernard Abbey. You can enjoy local vendors, arts and crafts, tasty treats, and music. In the fall we pay homage to our German roots and celebrate with Oktoberfest. The entire month is filled with activities all around town, from the Oktoberfest pageant to grabbing traditional German food and local restaurants.

Stoney Lonesome OHV Park is the perfect attraction for those that like to enjoy the outdoors and maybe get a little muddy. Stony Lonesome is the first public OHV park of its kind in the state. Open year-round, the 1456+ acre park features trails for ATVs, rock crawlers, dirt bikes, mountain bikers, equestrians, hikers, pedestrians, and much more.
